Let me introduce myself.  My name is Ramona Chamness.  I am a 1982 Z-R graduate.  After graduation, I attended Rend Lake College and played softball for two years while there.  I finished my degree at SIU-Carbondale.  I have been teaching for 32 years. This will be my last year of teaching.  I will be retiring after this school year.  I began my teaching career in Du Quoin, IL and came to teach a year later at Z-R.  I coached softball for 20 years at Z-R at both the Jr. High and High School levels.  I also coached basketball and was the assistant athletic director.  My husband is Jim Chamness.  He is a Z-R graduate and an Eastern Illinois University graduate.  He was the High School Student Services Director.  He retired in 2017.   He is also a farmer. We live in Royalton.
     My daughter Riane is a Z-R graduate and a Maryville University graduate. She is a physical therapist.  She is married to Ian.  He is a Rice University graduate where he played baseball and earned his physics and business degree.   He is pursuing a Geospatial-Intelligence degree from Mizzou.  They live in Columbia, MO. 
     ​My son Bradford is a Z-R graduate and a St. Louis College of Pharmacy graduate.  He lives in Christopher, Illinois and is a Pharmacist for Health Direct. He is married to Hope Valette.  She is an SIU-Edwardsville graduate and is a Nurse Practitioner at Southern Illinois Dermatology. My grandson, Townes Bradford Hargraves was born Sept. 30, 2019. 
     ​My step-daughter Allison is a Z-R graduate and an SIU-Edwardsville graduate and is a dentist.  She lives in Effingham, IL with her husband Chuck and two children, Sylvie and Reed. Chuck is a Notre Dame University graduate and is an Orthodontist in Effingham.  
​     ​​​On my free time, my husband and I love to travel, especially to Disney World. We are SIU boosters and attend most of the football and basketball games. We are also St. Louis Cardinal fans and go whenever my husband isn't busy farming.
